Transforming systems: the organization pursues litigation, advocacy, and narrative change strategies to undo the worst harms of the immigration enforcement and detention systems, to expand opportunities for second chances, and to fundamentally transform the laws, policies, and discourse that shape the immigration system.

Keeping communities together: the organization defends immigrants in removal proceedings in cases that have a broader impact, advocates for and supports the implementation of laws and policies that provide immigration relief to under-resourced groups, and incubates projects focused on expanding protection and opportunities for legal pathways.
