Provide Professional Education The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin NKFW works with renal and transplant professionals around the state to share and promote best practices and foster their professional development. This includes serving as the convening body for the Council of Nephrology Social Workers - Wisconsin Chapter and the Council for Renal Nutrition - Wisconsin Chapter. NKFW also provides accredited continuing education credits to a range of renal and transplant professionals through an annual conference. NKFW also convenes health professionals for periodic education events both virtually and in-person.
Provide Community Services The National Kidney Foundation of Wisconsin provides a robust kidney screening program for early detection of kidney disease, with the goal of reducing the frequency and severity of kidney disease in Wisconsin. Screening locations are targeted to traditionally under-served areas of the state, particularly in the major metro areas of Milwaukee and Madison. Between 6 and 12 free community screenings are held each year, benefiting hundreds of individuals.
