Programs

Young heroes outreach program - the national liberty museum's young heroes outreach program (yhop) is a year-long civics program for grades 4-8. Yhop extends the nlm's mission into the classroom and applies an engaging student-centered approach to civic education. Opportunities are embedded throughout this program for students to use critical thinking and practice what they have learned to problem-solve real-life social issues and bring about tangible, positive changes in their school and community. The program includes comprehensive professional development and support for teachers, who work in partnership with museum educations to implement this unique, evidence based program in their schools.

Expenses: $458K

K-12 learning experiences - nlm offers a range of engaging virtual and in-person learning experiences for schools. Nlm's standards aligned programs introduce and explore the concept of liberty through real-life applications. Drawing inspirations from the museum's galleries and changing exhibitions, these hands-on interactive learning experiences explore specified themes, such as: how to create change; media literacy and citizenship; conflict resolution, and allyship. All student learning experiences include pre- and post-visit materials for use in the classroom and are regularly evaluated.
