Government affairs: nlbmda's primary mission is to represent the industry before congress, federal regulators and code bodies on issues impacting the lumber and building material industry. Staff and members advocate on behalf of dealers for business-friendly regulations that are fair, simple and effective through face-to-face meetings and communications with legislators, regulators and code officials. Nlbmda's government affairs committees recommend policies on key public policy issues to the board of directors, which sets policy for nlbmda.

Legislative conference: nlbmda's legislative conference provides an opportunity for members to learn about key public policy issues impacting the industry, and to participate in visits with their elected officials on capitol hill to lobby them on behalf of the industry.
