Mission

The National Museum of Gospel Music will be known for its commitment to the richness of gospel music as reflected in our past, present, and future by providing learning experiences for young people and adults. Gospel music has played a significant role in the African American fight for freedom and civil rights as well as an ambassador of goodwill around the world. The museum will inspire people of all ages to learn more about gospel music and its contributions to the foundation of American music culture through its exhibitions and programs.
