Communications and public relations: the communications and public relations team oversees all interaction with the press including promoting nmpa objectives and raising awareness about the issues faced by the music publishing and songwriting community. It also encompasses events which nmpa presents for members and the broader industry. Communications, pr, and events are used to educate members, consumers, lawmakers, and music creators about the importance of protecting copyrights and nmpas role in doing so.

Government affairs: nmpa frequently engages with the copyright office, department of justice, and other congressional and administrative offices in support of the interests of publishers and songwriters.
