National novel writing month believes in the transformational power of creativity. We provide the structure, community, and encouragement to help people find their voices, achieve creative goals, and build new worlds - on and off the page.

Young writers program: 78,773 k-12 student writers participated throughout the year; 47,408 participated in our november event, with 16,566 completing their wordcount goals. We provided free program facilitation resources to 6,230 worldwide educators.
