The nscda-sc annually provides many educational scholarships and awards related to colonial history and education. In the current year, 5 "teaching of history" scholarships were awarded to college students majoring in history, expenses were paid for 1 congressional essay contest winner scholarship awarded for a high school student to attend a workshop in washington, dc, a summer internship was funded for a student at the powder magazine, and several awards were given for veteran's programs in sc and for state and regional history related programs. On the national level, the society contributed to an american indian medical scholarship for a student in the medical field.

The national society of the colonial dames of america in the state of south carolina is dedicated to the furthering of knowledge and appreciation for colonial/national heritage. The organization provides annual contributions to historic properties (dumbarton, gunston hall, sulgrave manor) owned or supported by our national organization ($3,550) and to sc exempt organizations whose missions align with our society's mission ($1,300). We honor our program speakers with small contributions to exempt organizations connected to their topic (1,150). A special contribution was made this year to our national organization to sponsor the purchase/training of two puppies for america's vet dogs program (12,000).
