Mission
The mission of the NSCIA-SWC is to assist people who have some degree of paralysis through injury or disease with a goal of returning them to a life of dignity, self-confidence and independence in a community that is all inclusive.

Services for Individuals with Disabilities: Greatest Needs Fund Grants to five spinal cord injured persons; helped all 5 with home ramps.
Services to Individuals with Disabilities, General Transportation Assistance - Educational Scholarship provided to one individual with a spinal cord injury.
0Specialized Human Services Programs: Volunteers Staff a barrier free climate controlled respite center for physically and/or emotionally disabled, and/or elderly and/or nursing mothers on the Milwaukee lakefront festival grounds during all summer festivals. The respite center has large fully accessible family bathrooms, changing / shower facilities, storage lockers and a large open area for resting. (614 people served)
Leisure & Recreational Activities Programs: A picnic was held for members and their families.
Information & Referral Programs: Maintain Web-site all year to provide program announcements and other useful information related to spinal cord injuries.
Mentoring Programs: Our Members volunteer to serve as Peer Advisors for spinal cord injured persons and their families during and after their hospital stay.
