Mission

To provide and maintain those benefits which the Benefit Plan Trustees, in its sole discretion, determines from time-to-time shall be provided and as are specified in the Plan Document and for payment, in accordance with ERISA, of reasonable expenses incurred in the administration of the Plan.

NDBBT continues to work with Brown & Brown (broker) to provide access to innovative benefits communication tools such as on-demand BrainShark training videos and a mobile app that allows employees to load bank specific benefits information on their phone and other devices. Starting in 2024, each NDBBT member bank was provided with an electronic flipbook link which includes bank-specific benefits information and all required employee benefit plan documents and notices. The flipbooks are updated annually.Bank employees and their family members also have access to Medicare Specialists through the Medicare Eligibility Program to help them enroll in and explore the many options available to them through Medicare. The Medicare Eligibility Program is paid for by the NDBBT and is provided at no cost to the bank employees and their family members.

NDBBT offers the Learn to Live Mental Health program through BCBSND. This is an on-line program that is provided to bank employees and their families (13 and older) at no cost. Learn to Live offers proven on-line programs addressing stress, depression, social anxiety, insomnia and substance use which can be accessed anytime anywhere.NDBBT also offers an Employee Assistance Program to those banks that participate in the ancillary benefits (life, AD&D, LTD, STD, voluntary life) through Mutual of Omaha.

Another Mental Health option - NDBBT provides free access to all member bank employees and their families to the CALM app. This app can help to lower stress and anxiety, improve focus and more restful sleep.NDBBT offers Hinge Health, a digital exercise therapy benefit available at no additional cost to NDBBT members. Their virtual programs combine gentle exercise with 1-on-1 support to reduce pain and help members move with confidence. This is available to member bank employees and their dependents (age 18+) that are enrolled in an NDBBT medical plan.
