Mission
To help individuals in need through our food pantry (the market), which provides healthy food options and basic hygiene and our diaper bank, providing diapers, wipes, baby hygiene items and period products. In addition, we offer coaching and warm referrals to other agencies for individuals and households through our "more than food" program.
Programs
2 programs
The babies' place, our community diaper bank, has a unique space inside the neighbors' place. The babies' place provides diapers, period products, and basic needs to caregivers of babies and toddlers. We also provide baby formula, baby food and beautiful hand made blankets and knitted hats to families visiting for the first time. The community support for this program continues to grow. Diapers and other basic needs are not eligible for any government assistance, in addition, in wi, these products are more costly than in other states due to the "luxury tax" otherwise known as the "pink tax". By providing these valuable resources to families in need, we are helping them to put food on the table and balance other necessities. At the end of 2024, we served a total of 1,357 households ,with diapers and basic needs. We are also members of the national diaper bank network which provides us with cost saving opportunities for diapers as well as promotional materials to build awareness for our programs and advocacy tools to bring awareness to diaper need in our community. . In 2024 we also really started to look beyond diaper need and focus on period poverty, helping families that are unable to obtain the necessities that relate to menstruation. I feel proud that we continue to look for different and better ways to respond to these needs (ex: providing period products in the public health vending machine outside of our building). In 2024, 75,280 period supplies were distributed to more than 3,000 individuals.
