Mission
Netball America is the leading authority on Netball in the USA. We are focused on showing how Netball creates an exciting atmosphere of participation and supports individual progress, team unity, good health and education of youth, while uniting communities for positive change. Our aim is to encourage children and families to be physically active, maintain a healthy lifestyle and includes those with disabilities to ensure they feel part of their community. We are using the sport of Netball as a vehicle for social change.
Programs
3 programs
USA Netball Teams: A squad of 80 American athletes who train monthly - virtually and in person. The purpose of this is to develop athletes on an elite pathway to get them at a level in line with international standards on our Stripes to Stars Pathway. These teams consist of all genders. Applications are open year-round for athletes, coaches and volunteers to apply to be a part of this team. The co-ed all gender team won the Dubai International Netball Tournament and the women's team won the silver medal. In 2024 the team competed at the England National Championships and ranked 7th out of 32. As Netball is a developing sport in the USA, the athletes who are selected must embody what it means to be a mentor to younger athletes as well as stand as a representative of Netball in the community. Volunteering their time in our programs is also a requirement.
US Open Netball Championships: This sees an adult event every November and a junior event in April. The adult championships is a 3 day education and national netball championships that has a participate rate of over 3,500. Participants include athletes, coaches, officials and volunteers. The 2024 event was held in Mesa, Arizona. The event was streamed live globally and had over 100,000 viewers. Day 1 of the event is training development for athletes, officials, volunteers and coaches. These clinics are hosted by international umpires, coaches and other professionals who volunteer their time to help drive the development of American netball with world class standards. Day 2 and 3 of the event is the netball championships. During 2024 this competition saw ladies and mixed/co-ed categories with 4 divisions in each category: The Cup, The Shield, the Bowl and the Plate. Participants were from 23 U.S. States, Canada, Jamaica, UK, Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.
As a member-based organization, we support our members through attending their events, donating products and $ towards them through our fundraising efforts. In addition, during 2024 we launched for members the first National Netball League in the USA, and this saw 6 teams compete across the USA.
