New Beginnings

Dvhopeline: in the last half of 2024, crisis intervention, emotional support, safety planning, information about domestic violence and referrals were provided to survivors and community members supporting them through 17,282 calls and chats.

Community advocacy program: in 2024, 361 adults and their families planned for their safety, and made progress in healing and rebuilding their lives through individual advocacy, counseling and support groups. 338 domestic violence survivors received information, referrals and support with protection orders, divorce, child custody, immigration and other cases with the assistance of our legal advocates. 17 survivors received mental health counseling through new beginnings' therapist, and 82 survivors received financial assistance to help them remain housed, and overcome other obstacles to safety and independence.

Social change program: in 2024, community members increased their knowledge about domestic violence and where to turn for help through our community education and outreach efforts. 424 youth learned about healthy relationships and the warning signs of abuse through our prevention education efforts. 24 community volunteers served through involvement in new beginnings' education and outreach programs, survivor support services, and organizational governance.
