Mission

Njperf was formed as a result of the establishment of the national propane education research council (perc) as the entity to receive new jersey state funds. Its purposes are to establish and facilitate programs to enhance safety, training, research and development, and safety education in the propane industry for the benefit of propane consumers and the public, and for lawful purposes.

Programs

3 programs

Njperf media relations campaign - this campaign will raise awareness of the nj energy master plan and its negative impacts on propane consumers. This will be done by identifying case studies and comparisons among electricity, propane, coal, and other fossil fuels. This project is considered beneficial in the way njperf educates nj consumers on the choice and benefits of propane. The campaign messaging will be limited to consumer education and safety, and no funds will be used to support lobbying activities or initiatives.

Expenses: $5K

Nj clean cities coalition membership - provides access to meetings and events throughout the year to build on njperc's engine fuel initiatives and give nj fleet buyers and propane industry representatives an up-close look at the latest vehicle offerings.

Expenses: $3K

New jersey bus contractors association membership - provided direct access to njsbca members who are owners and top decision makers of the leading school bus contractors across the state. Through this connection, we are able to promote propane as a promising alternative fuel for school buses in nj because it is widely available, costs less than diesel or gasoline, and is non-toxic, non-poisonous, and safe in the air we breathe.
