Mission
To foster, develop, promote, and operate a combination of formal programs, services, and appropriate supports over a sustained period that will maximize the quality of life and functional abilities for intellectually and developmentally disabled citizens of franklin county.
Programs
2 programs
Day habilitation which includes experiences in the community, with employment, and activities in the facility setting. The program emphasizes working in the community in conjunction with the tennessee department of rehabilitation services and tennessee's employment initiative. Work skills and community skills are discussed, taught, practiced and implemented on a daily basis encouraging individuals to make choices and express preferences. Training and classes are used for the retention or improvements in areas of daily living, social communication, self-help, and other adaptive skills.
The choices program coordinates healthcare and long term care service needs for medicaid recipients through tenncare. The employment community first program assists individuals in finding employment via support and training. New life tn is paid by individuals or their families for individual services provided at the facility or in the individual's home.
