Guns to garden the guns to gardens project guns to gardens is our grssroots gun buyback program that gets unwanted guns off the streets and out of homes before transforming them into gardening tools and art. We partner with law enforcement to host gun buybacks throughout new mexico. To date, we have held 13 gun buy backs throughout new mexico. The guns are dismantled on site and given to rawtools who transforms them into gardening tools and brazilian artist trago rene torres da silva transforms them in art.
Mural projects murals to end gun violence is a collaboration between students, professional artists and new mexicans to prevent gun violence. All murals are designed and executed by students. Creating gun violence prevention murals in our schools and communities give youths an opportunity to voice their hopes and concerns through art. The murals are an effective way to raise social awareness about gun violence, as hundreds of students and adults pass by the murals daily.
