Louisiana Maritime Association (LAMA) - represents the members in a wide range of diverse matters such as maintaining adequate deep-draft anchorages and channels throughout the Gulf. LAMA is the industrys liaison with Customs and Border Protection, the Coast Guard, the United States Department of Agriculture, the Corps of Engineers, the Transportation Security Administration, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, and the Department of Homeland Security. One of the Associations most important functions is to disseminate timely information to its members. LAMA keeps its members updated on the status of draft conditions and related legislative and funding issues as they continue to make the Mississippi River the most productive and efficient in the nation.

Big River Coalition (BRC) - main focus is to obtain additional federal funding to supplement the shortfall in the Corps annual budget, to strive to establish a legislative firewall around the harbor maintenance trust fund, and to represent members of the Mississippi River Navigation Industry in matters related to coastal restoration.
