To honor and perpetuate te memory and spirit of the men and women who, by their services and sacrifices during the american revolution from 1775 to 1783, assisted in the establishment of the united states of america as a free and independent country, with special consideration accored to the commissioned officers of the new york continental line and the soldiers they led.
