Newport News Educational Foundation

The foundation offers classroom mini-grants of $50 - $500 for newport news public school teachers. Mini-grants provide seed money for innovative classroom initiatives that enrich the educational experience for students. During fy25, the foundation also funded an art grant and provided sponsorships to the heritage and denbigh high school bands

Salute to success - the foundation honors and celebrates the resilience and perserverance of nnps top students who have made extraordinary accomplishments towards the goals of becoming college, career and citizen ready

The foundation provides a conduit for a grant in partnership with newport news shipbuilding for a stem project that seeks to make impactful connections for students in 3rd through 8th grade through an interactive and gamified exploration of ten digital shipbuilding areas. The immersive website provides explorations in digital shipbuilding and repair content, careers and pathways.

Bayport foundation accelerating change together(act) - this program is to support the newport news public schools new teacher institute(nti) program. The funding provides for nti to answer the regional call to build a workforce pipeline to expand its first and second year teacher programs. It will also fund the development of a model program, provide credentialing assistance and invest in career and technical education.
