2. We educate the public and elected officials about pro-democracy reforms. This included public advertisement via social media and news outlets, our monthly newsletter, informational posts on social media, op-eds and letters to the editor in NM-based newspapers. This activity was conducted in the State of New Mexico by our Executive Director, coalition partners, volunteers, and Board of Directors. Thirty-five to forty percent of time is allocated to this activity. Education furthers our mission by keeping the public and elected officials aware of important democracy issues. By continuing to stay on the news, social media outlets, and other forms of media we ensure that accurate and consistent information is being shared and is publicly available regarding the pro-democracy reforms we and our supporters care about.
3. Electoral Activity: In this election year, we made campaign contributions and official endorsements to primary and general election candidates. All contributions and endorsements were based on survey responses. This activity was conducted by the Executive Director, a contractor, and final decisions were made by our Board of Directors. This activity took place in the state of New Mexico. We estimate that annually, approximately ten to fifteen percent of expenditures may be allocated to this activity. This activity is funded by grants and donations. Electoral activity furthers our mission by electing leaders who will represent the interests of New Mexico communities and who will support pro-democracy reforms.
