Programs
4 programs
Professional Development-Designed to provide the education needed for professionals and students who are managing or learning to manage invasive species. This program has two components: fee-based courses and free webinars. The fee-based courses provide the most current invasive species identification, control, and management techniques and comply with local and federal regulations. The free webinars are open to the public to register and attend and are recorded and available for paid members.
Annual Conference-Provides an opportunity for invasive species professionals to learn the latest techniques and strategies for prevention, detection, and management. This program provides concurrent sessions, field trips, and workshops to connect terrestrial and aquatic invasive species management, research, policy, and outreach initiatives and opportunities across North America.
Weed Free Products-The NAISMA Certified Weed Free Products program is the only program in North America that provides land managers with assurance that noxious weeds will not be spread through the movement of forage, hay, mulch, or gravel brought into the property. Weed Free Products maintains a list of standards, provides guidelines, and ensures uniform training and participation. Many federal, state, and local lands require the use of certified weed free forage, gravel or mulch on their properties.
Government Affairs / National Invasive Species Awareness Week -NAISMAs Government Affairs work includes organizing Congressional briefings, organizing virtual webinars to educate the public on invasive species concerns, publishing policy papers, and sending letters to federal elected officials and agency leadership on timely actions and funding opportunities to increase support for invasive species prevention and management. Our government affairs work is non-partisan. Invasive species impacts all Americans throughout all ways of life.
