The mission of the north brooklyn community boathouse is toa.foster public awareness, environmental stewardship and appreciation of the ecological, water-use, historic, and recreational issues and value of the waterways of the city of new york, particularly those surrounding north brooklyn and environs;b.educate the public as to issues concerning urban estuary ecology and recreational waterway access and use; andc.provide, sponsor, and coordinate programs and opportunities to enable the public to safely access and enjoy the waterways in an environmentally sustainable manner via human-powered watercraft.
