North Carolinians For Home Education

The NCHE Athletic Commission organizes and administers regular season leagues and post-season tournaments in the traditional high school sports. These teams compete against other homeschool, private school, and public-school teams. Sports covered typically include Baseball, Basketball, Cross Country, Fencing, Golf, Soccer (Boys and Girls), Swimming, and Volleyball. In 2024 NCHE provided opportunities for 143 teams and 1,842 student athletes in nine different sports.

NCHE organizes numerous educational activities such as field trips and chess tournaments. In addition, NCHE awards scholarships to graduating seniors each year. In 2024, 14 field trips and activities provided educational opportunities for over 2,900 attendees. NCHE also awarded $9,000 in scholarships to five graduating seniors who excelled in the areas of academics, the arts, community service, sports, and missions.

Program Services other than the top three include: (1) publications (magazine, radio, and other media) used to inform members and others about topics of interest and keep them abreast of resources available to homeschoolers, (2) conferences, meetings, and other support for the homeschooling community.
