Teacher grants/awards and nkc schools supportthe education foundation's grant program is named in honor of dr. Dan kahler, a retired principal whose gift established the grant fund. Since 1997, the education foundation has awarded 370 grants to staff members totaling $539,832. Staff members submit grants that demonstrate creative and effective ways to meet student needs while increasing their achievement and motivation to learn. The majority of funding for these grants is received, held, and distributed by the greater kansas city community foundation on behalf of the education foundation. Due to this agreement, whereby gkccf retains variance power, some contribution revenue and expenses for awarded grants are not reflected on this return.
