To enhance educational opportunities and educational excellence for students of the north thurston public schools (ntps).

Grants made to schools in the north thurston public schools to be used for needy students to assist in meeting school requirements and some personal needs incidential to their obtaining an education. Grants continue to include rent/utilities, food and toiletry closets in middle and high schools to provide foods and other items for homeless students and others in need. Approximately 9,132 students received assistance.
Learning improvement grants made to educators to encourage instructional innovation and improvement in student learning. Approximately 2,900 students were served by the learning grants.
