Technology market transformation energy-efficient equipment and building practices require continuous innovation, education, and collaboration involving multiple stakeholders including manufacturers, utilities, contractors, distributors, and consumers. Technology opportunities that provide public benefits include building envelope upgrades and efficient heat pumps for space and water heating. These benefits offer households and businesses opportunities to reduce costs and emissions while improving health and comfort. Neep accelerates market adoption of high-efficiency technologies through stakeholder collaboration and development of strategies, tools, and research for policy makers, program administrators, utilities, contractors, advocates, and industry to implement through their unique market channels.
Community solutions: communities have opportunities to advance energy efficiency but often lack sufficient capacity, including expertise and bandwidth. Opportunities at the community level include energy efficiency programs for single and multifamily residences, businesses, and community-serving institutions. Neep provides communities with research on best practices, technical assistance, and convenings of large cohorts of communities to facilitate peer-to-peer learning. Neep also supports communities in implementing pilots and by documenting and sharing lessons learned through case studies and exemplars
