The providing of legal representation to indigent adult individuals charged with the commission of acts against society punishable as crimes occuring in northeast michigan, including alpena and montmorency counties, and assisting those counties in fulfilling their responsibilites as set forth in the compliance plan for each county approved by the indigent defense commission, as amended from time to time.
