Instruction includes camps and classes: We hold several week-long in-person math camps each summer and several online classes as our Competition Team members would like to run. Camps are typically for students entering grades 2-7 and cover a variety of topics from Algebra, Number Theory Geometry, and Combinatorics. Classes were also held in the evenings and on weekends for students wanting to develop skills they didn't have access to in the classroom.2024 was the 2nd year of this program. (Continued on Schedule O)Family Math Nights were hosted by 12 schools in the Reno/Sparks area. They are held in partnership with the schools and Washoe County School District's Parent's University who covers the fees for the school and provide translators. This program engaged many volunteers within the community. Quality and usefulness of this program was rated high by attending parents. We created the Math Club in a Bag program in 2024. It is a kit designed for 3rd grade after-school math clubs that makes learning math enjoyable and interactive while sparking curiosity and enthusiasm for numbers. This program was not made available during the fiscal year, but it will be in subsequent years.

Competition Team: This program is for students living in the Reno/Sparks area who want to participate as part of a team working to solve incredibly challenging math problems. This program focuses on being a good teammate, continuous learning, and developing deep math, logic, and problem solving skills. Students must be located in the Reno/Sparks area and in grades 7-12 (grade skips are not counted). Students practice on most Sunday afternoons throughout the school year. Students are required to contribute time towards improving the local math community and Nevada Math, most do this by volunteering at math camps. (Continued on Schedule O)Students are selected from this group to represent the Reno/Sparks region as part of the Team that competes in the American Regions Mathematics League (ARML) competition. Our final team consisted of 28 student who attended 10 different area schools. 32% of the team members were female. In 2024, one of our students placed 5th in the country.
