Recuritment and Retention - Northern Vermont AHEC works to attract and retain adequate numbers of well-trained health professionals to the health care workforce in our region. We do this in three ways: 1) by participating in educational loan repayment programs for health professionals in exchange for service commitments, 2) by supporting community-based and clinical education experiences for health professions students that demonstrate the value and benefits of a rural health care practice and lifestyle, and 3) by participating in an annual survey of of practitioners in our region to determine primary care workforce needs.
Quality Improvement and Continuing Education - Northern Vermont AHEC provides health professionals and decision-makers with relevant and timely information and education to improve systmes of care and patient outcomes. We do this by providing and promoting high quality, affordable continuing education programs both independently and in partnership with other partners.
