Enhance & Inspire Learning-in 2023-2024 we had a rebuilding year. We moved from a three grant/year cycle to a Fall/Spring grant cycle. This allowed us to better serve our schools by lengthening the application period. We also implemented new grant guidelines, which have helped to clarify what does and does not qualify. This resulted in a lower number of grant applications but also made for a smoother review process for our volunteer reviewers as well as fewer unfunded applications. We approved 64 grants during this fiscal year supporting 29/34 schools in the Northshore School District.
Build Skills for Life is our newest funding pillar and we are still defining the scope of what fits under building life skills for students in Pre-K-12th grades. During the 2023/24 school year we funded the Secondary Academy for Success's No Desks Allowed program for seniors as well as the SAS Rock Band. We also provided funding for the Keynote speaker for the Northshore Student Justice Conference. We will continue to identify programming whose support builds student skills they can use to success post High School graduation.
