Northwest immigrant rights project promotes justice by defending and advancing (see schedule o) the rights of immigrants through direct legal services, systemic advocacy, and community education.

Violence against women act (vawa) - this program assists individuals who are survivors of domestic violence, human trafficking, or other serious crimes and are pursuing legal immigration status.

Children and youth advocacy program (cyap) - this program serves immigrant children and youth and unaccompanied minors, including many who are survivors of abuse, neglect, abandonment, human trafficking, or other serious crimes and are pursuing legal immigration status.

Detention defense - this program includes a legal orientation program, legal consultation, and direct representation of individuals detained at the northwest ice processing center in tacoma.

Asylum: this program assisted people who had fled violence or persecution in their home countries and sought safety and protection through asylum in the united states.

Daca: this program assisted undocumented young people in applying for the deferred action for childhood arrivals protection, which provides work permits, new opportunities in education, and relief from the threat of deportation.

Family services: this program helped people seeking to reunite or stay together with their children, parents, and other family members through the family visa process.

Citizenship: this program helped community members apply to become united states citizens, a majority of whom faced barriers to citizenship such as a disability or elderly age.

Advocacy and education: this program challenged unjust immigration policies and practices at the local and national level through systemic litigation and advocacy, as well as provided community education and outreach about immigration issues and immigrant rights.

Social services: this program offers one-on-one support to nwirp clients, ensuring access to social services and resources. It is part of the interdisciplinary legal team and works concurrently with nwirp's legal staff to promote holistic service delivery to nwirp clients while they navigate their legal immigration case.
