Mission
The nwi food council work covers service and support, education and outreach; and policy and advocacy for our local food system to cultivate a just, thriving and regenerative food system for all in nw indiana.
Programs

Through state funds, the council works to improve maternal and child health and nutrition by addressing first-time mother food insecurity, early childhood nutrition deficiencies, and high rates of infant mortality with local food distributions by a newly formed female farmer cooperative and partners.
Provide technical assistance and program support to farmers markets and vendors to improve snap and wic redemption rates, and advocate for more responsive programming to families on food assistance.
