Nyack Center

Camp NyackFor the last 12 years, Nyack Center has contracted with The Village of Nyack to run its summer camp for children from K-6 grade. Camp runs for 6 weeks, 5 days a week from 8:30-3.Camp Nyack was housed at Marydell Faith and Life Center. Activities included free breakfast and lunch, swimming, arts and crafts, dance, art, yoga, reading, and swimming. Campers pay on a sliding scale dependent on family income

Breakfast Club provides 44 children, grades K-8 with nurturing, educational and recreational activities, a nourishing breakfast and mentoring before school, from 7am to 8:15am. In collaboration with The Nyack School District, students are bused to their various schools

Community ServicesThe Center serves as the location for other local projects and programs. In addition, the building is rented out for community purposes and for private functions.

Teen CouncilA substance free leadership program for teenagers. A student board and one adult advisor coordinate the program and meet twice a month to plan events and activities. Free and open to all community teens. A collaborative project with O.C.A.D.A. and Nyack Public Schools.

TutoringIn its third year, certified teachers provide one on one tutoring to students in our after-school program. Teachers also provide free tutoring during the school year for Middle School and High School students in the evenings, Tuesday and Wednesday. from 5:30-8pm. This is a collaboration with Nyack Public Schools.

Nyack Youth CollaborativeA monthly meeting of over 40 youth services organizations in Rockland County. A series of youth forums and an employment night are run each yearthe first of its kind in Rockland County. Four different Rockland collaborative programs grew from this pilot.

Summer Youth EnrichmentIn 2024, in addition to Camp Nyack, Nyack Center hosts an onsite program for up to 20 youth. Summer Youth Enrichment is open Monday through Friday for 10 weeks. The program is free with breakfast and lunch and classes include drama, dance, chess, sound production, videography, and gaming
