The organization's mission is to promote healthy aging through lifelong learning, active lifestyles and volunteer engagement.
Programs
3 programs
Curriculum: the curriculum program offers classes in arts and humanities, consumer interest and outreach. Courses are available in history and music, visual and performing arts, financial and legal issues, writing, and travel. These classes are held at the oasis center and at outreach sites in san antonio. 949 individuals were served in 2024.
Technology: the technology program offers classes that help build skills and confidence using computers, the internet, and today's technology. 824 individuals were served in 2024.
Intergenerational tutoring: the intergenerational tutoring program places volunteers in three school districts to work with children in 1st through 3rd grades in an effort to increase the child's reading skills and improve self-esteem. Currently 114 tutors assisted 160 children to help build reading skills.
