Ocracoke Alive Inc

The deepwater theater provides an area as a homebase for our administrative functions, a multipurpose space for student and community programs, as well as storage for equipment for programs.

Ocracoke alive outreach programs include activities for ocracoke students as well as adults. These programs focus on community enrichment for island residents, as well as serving as a vehicle for sharing between the different cultural groups on ocracoke. There are two larger events that also fall under this category: the ocracoke community multicultural festival (in partnership with ocracoke school), and the ocracoke earth day festival.

Ocracoke alive partners with ocracoke school for student programs like the ocracoke school arts week as well as other student and adult programs throughout the year. In addition, the ocracoke quilters meet at deepwater theater weekly to work on quilts that they donate to community non-profits as fundraisers for those organizations.
