Identify, authenticate, collect, preserve, and interpret ohio's history.
Programs

Capital projects - plan, design and rehabilitate existing sites and exhibits as well as plan, design and construct new sites and exhibits.
Historic preservation - administer the state historical preservation office under provisions of the national historical preservation act.
State archives/library - acquire, appraise and accession historical documents for the state of ohio; provide research for library patrons; microfilm historical documents. And other program expenses.
