Mission

The Mission Statement for the Okmulgee County Humane Society is to enrich the lives of dogs and cats and provide support to the people who love them when in need - strengthen the overall human-animal bond.

Programs

3 programs

Trap-N-Release Program (TNR) is for feral/stray cats in Okmulgee County as funds are available. This program is geared to slow down the overpopulation of stray cats in our community. Cats who land in our Vet's office for TNR are combo tested, vaccinated, and ear clipped in order to indicate to the neighborhood this animal has been serviced. In 2024, the City of Okmulgee, with the assistance of Okmulgee Main Street, provided $2,500 to assist in the TNR project.

Community Medical Assistance is available to residents of Okmulgee County. This is an emergency medical assistance we provide as funds are available. This service may be provided to a personal resident in a financial need, or a stray animal who was hit by a car and the person who found them can't provide the care or financial assistances.

Adoption Program helped to adopt an average of 138 total dogs and cats. OCHS provides dog food, cat food, cat litter, and other supplies to those in need within our community. During 2024, we relied on residents and feed stores to supply donation items. These donated items are what we give to individuals in need.
