Provide residents with a venue to purchase food and quality artisan products locally grown/produced, to promote the concept of a "green market", to promote civic education by connecting the farmers/artisans with suburban consumers, move to establish local, community based food systems to achieve fresher, better tasting and safe food, improve profitability and enhance local/regional economies, and to increase opportunities for local/regional farmers/artisans interested in creating new businesses.
