Olympic Theatre Arts

Special events: original works developed by local artists groups are produced in cooperation with ota to provide a venue and a voice for our creative community. Ota presents a unique venue in this rural community, combining its 160+ seat main stage theatre with a gathering hall reception area that can provide versatile space for large meetings, receptions, or cafe-style entertainment. Our versatile performance spaces are used for music concerts, comedy and improv shows, dance productions, and fundraisers and seminars for other nonprofit groups. Centrally located in downtown sequim, our building is a community center with ample on-site parking that serves as a "hub" for festivals and events throughout the larger community.

Education: ota creates growth opportunities for youth by making children the primary emphasis for educational workshops, camps, and classes. Public funding for arts education and development is practically non-existent in our community's public schools, and ota embraces the challenge to fill that gap in performing arts education. We present intensive programs focused on youth throughout the year. Special emphasis is made to involve children of all skills, interests, and abilities to contribute towards the live performances that are the culmination of each workshop, often involving 30-60 children per production aged 5 to 18. Ota continually strives to find sponsors and partners to keep costs low and offer scholarships so any child can participate. As a matter of fact, all volunteer opportunities at ota, which are open to any age range, have expansive educational components. We also sponsor or host classes in various aspects of theatre arts and other fine arts disciplines.
