Mission

One for one chicago's mission is to break cycles of poverty and violence for youth ages 14-24 by equipping young people with tools, training, and support to thrive. Our programming provides paid internships, career exposure, life skills support, financial literacy, and trauma-informed case management that build employability, confidence, and resilience. At the heart of our work is a simple truth: one person, one choice, one step, one chance, one job, one day, one opportunity can change a life.

Education, skill-building, and leadership programsthe organization provides community-based learning and leadership experiences through specialized trainings, hands-on projects, and partnerships that expose youth to new career pathways. These programs build communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills and provide additional development beyond employment training.

Barrier reduction and supportive servicesone for one chicago provides barrier reduction services to help young people start and maintain employment. Support includes case management, crisis response, transportation assistance, school coordination, and connection to appropriate community-based mental health resources. These services help participants remain stable, engaged, and prepared for work.
