Providing emergency medical care to pets who would otherwise be euthanized for medical reasons: pet owners and regional county animal shelters often euthanize animals with treatable medical conditions for financial reasons. The organization took in and covered the cost, treatment and rehabilitation of multiple animals in need of live-saving medical care for issues such as severe viral infections, seizure disorders, skin conditions (i.e ringworm and mange), limb amputations, developmental deformities and more. This program accounts for 25% of total expenses in 2024.
Educating the public on animal care, welfare and conservation: the organization engaged in live tours, presentations at schools, public events and adoption fairs aiming to educating the public on animal welfare topics, proper and safe animal care and interaction, the importance of spay/neuter for household pets and broader concerns affecting the types of animals we work with and how people can make a difference to these animals in their daily actions. The organization also distributed educational material specific to the rescue and sanctuary animals. This program accounts for 15% of total expenses in 2024.
