Mission
To engage and partner with culturally and linguistically diverse individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities and their families. We use a cultural brokerage model to navigate services, provide specialized programming, and advocate for systems change.
Programs
3 programs
Transition programming 14-26: this model delivers culturally responsive programming that supports youth with disabilities in achieving iep goals, building advocacy and job readiness skills, support in college pathways, and forming meaningful relationships. Through mentorship, peer connections, and holistic development, the program fosters graduation, employment, and a strong sense of belonging within the community. We are currently holding programming for students during school hours for two high schools and expanding community for high school and young adults with weekly virtual engagement and monthly in person activities.
See schedule o for civic engagement program accomplishments
Economic stability department: the economic stability department (esd) focuses on expanding housing stability services for families served by odmf. It also collaborates across departments and with external partners to build capacity and secure resources that meet evolving community needs. In collaboration with the development department, they identified and pursued new funding opportunities to expand housing stability services, including a proposal for a homelessness diversion program. Additionally, the department has engaged in strategic planning, community partnerships, and welcomed a new intern to support ongoing initiatives.
