97% of families reported improved academic mindsets, from improved grades to better attitudes about homework to showing more academic confidence. 90% of parents reported improved school attendance. For the past three years, 100% of students enrolled in OpenDoors have graduated from high school. In comparison, in 2023-2024, 81.4% of Black and 78.7% of economically disadvantaged students graduated from Asheville High School, both of which are decreases from the previous school year. (NC Dept. Public Instruction, 2023-2024.) Enrichment programming. Afterschool STEAM runs a Math Club and creates classes with STEAM providers, aligning activities with NC Standard Courses of Study. Classes are differentiated by age group and skill and are capped at 12

students. Last year, STEAM enrollment grew from 56 to 90+ students. Summer programming connects students to STEAM, sports, and overnight camps. Tutoring continues, and we run a back-to-school skills refresher week. By comparison, in 2022-23, less than 10% of local economically disadvantaged high school graduates enrolled in some form of post-secondary education. (NC Dept.
