The canyon lake retreat hosts 52 sponsored men and women who come from first responder, military, and/or extended family members from fallen heroes in our past. This event has numerous lakeside/shoreline mental wellness activities such as meditation, paddleboarding, boat-based water activities, music, etc. It covers a weekend of healing, learning, and wellness among the participants who have rarely taken the time to focus and work on their own mental health due to their dedication of serving others through their work and/or circumstances.
Throughout 2024 we had a number of additional activation events focused on veteran, military and first responder individuals and families to help drive the mission of connecting outdoor activities towards mental health healing and coping. Operation get out also became an official charity partner with the nationwide carry-the-load organization that focuses on helping survivors of fallen service men and women cope with mental health stress via their annual memorial day carry the load event.
Promotional efforts and general awareness for public education in the field of mental health and the impact of outdoor activity participation to promote wellness.
