Mission
The Optical Women's Association (OWA) has the primary exempt purpose to enhance and promote the leadership role of women in the optical industry through networking, education and peer support.
Programs

Leadership Scholarships are awarded every year to exceptional women for the purpose of further developing and enhancing their leadership skills.
Networking events provided a forum for the exchange of ideas and information among women and men, members, and non-members, representing all levels of the industry. Several hundred people participated in and benefitted from the 2024 events held both in-person and virtually.
The OWA Annual Awards recognized and honored OWA members and non-members who have made a significant difference for women in the optical industry.
The 2024 Annual Membership Directory (online for members only) was maintained in accordance with new and renewing members during 2024. The directory served as a tool for networking among the more than 900 OWA members and also provided consolidated access to 2024 event information on the optical industry calendar.
