We distributed community grants to local non-profits that did not have sufficient funding for all of their needs. In 2024 the recipients were: Amity Teen Center (10% sponsor of teen intern at facility that provides used medical equipment at low cost), Orange Historical Society, Town of Orange fireworks on July 4th, Town of Orange playground, Orange Afghan Ladies, Orange Players Association (community theatre), Orange Cultural Arts, Camp Cedarcrest, Orange Community Women, and Orange Memorial Day parade.
One grant was $10,000 to the Town of Orange to re-cinder the walking path between the Town Hall and the High Plains Community Center. It had been over 20 years since maintenance had been performed on this walkway. At the Memorial Day parade, our town's First Selectman (similar to a mayor) noted how this project added to the beauty and charm of our town, while at the same time making the walkway safer.
