Mission
The council was created by oregon's major insurers and hospitals to identify ways to lower rapidly growing medical costs and the costs of health insurance in order to improve business conditions in the health care field by making both health care and health insurance more affordable, and thus more accessible, to all oregonians.

Prescription drug monitoring program integration - focused on integrating access to the pdmp registries into the workflow of prescribers and pharmacists with the ultimate goal of reducing inappropriate prescriptions, improve patient outcomes and promote more informed prescribing practices
Other initiatives consist of: administrative simplification, best practices committee, connect oregon, comprehensive primary care +, total cost of care, oregon community information exchange, provider directory and covid-19.
