Mission

The orford social library offers to a town of 1,200 people and surrounding communities access to the state of new hampshire library system, plus a collection of books, magazines, newspapersm historical archives. The public library provides wifi computer access, desk top internet access, children's library and reading groups, humanities programs, knitting instruction, mahjongg, book clubs, language clubs, and instructional assistance for computer literacy. The orford social library offered a welcoming and stimulating atmosphere for over 4000 patrons this year. Our programs, materials and services enrich personal lives, foster community, stimulate ideas and nurture an appreciation and enjoyment of literature, nature and the arts. Several grants were completed this year including solar panels installation, new ada compliant ramp and brick pathway, heat pumps, improved outside lighting and an automatic door for those who need the help. Needed upgrades to our facilities and programs.
