Western osteoporosis alliance (woa) - to develop publication about anabolic treatment for osteoporosis.
New mexico bone club, established in 1997, consists of in-person or virtual cme scientific presentations 3 to 4 times per year. These focus on clinical aspects of osteoporosis and metabolic bone disease. Attendance has ranged from 100-200 participants depending on topic and venue.
Other programs:albuquerque support group holds regular educational meetings for the lay community since 1997. Attendance has typically ranged from 30-60 participants. These have been transitioned to virtual meetings since the onset of covid global pandemic. The goal is to reach more people with greater convenience.bone health echo (extension for community healthcare outcomes) established in 2015, is the prototype for technology-enabled collaborative learning for healthcare professionals with an interest in osteoporosis and metabolic bone diseases. It was developed by project echo (http://echo.unm.edu) at the university of new mexico health sciences center in collaboration with the organization. This consists of weekly 1.5 hour 'virtual' interactive case-based videoconferences. The sessions are open to anyone with internet access or telephone.
