Our mission is to unite the voices of outdoor enthusiasts to protect the humanpowered outdoor recreation experience and conserve Americas public lands.
Programs
3 programs
Data and Communications: Educate organizations and people within the human powered outdoor recreation community regarding conservation policy and related civic engagement opportunities. Develop internal organizational capacity regarding policy analysis, communications, and community organizing. Develop and provide professional support for state-level networks to enable local human powered organizations and local leaders to identify and pursue local conservation and sustainable recreational access priorities.
Geographic Information System Laboratory: The GIS Lab enables community and policy makers to better evaluate, understand and visualize complex geospatial relationships that will result in better policy outcomes for public lands.
Lobbying: We work to ensure the best protections for places that matter to the outdoor recreation community. Our campaigns advocate for stronger legislative protection for landscapes that support sustainable public access to the outdoors, including places that provide climbing, paddling, mountain biking, hiking, surfing, backcountry skiing, and mountaineering opportunities.
